Revit Intermediate 3569QCA
Corporate Office Fitout
A self-initiated assignment for a course solely focused on learning AutoDesk Revit. This was my second course learning this computer application.
Our brief was to create a new office for a High-End Law Firm and its 40 staff members. The parameters of the project were: To create a high-end corporate feel that has an open and inviting floor plan, it is located on an entire level of a CBD office tower and anything beyond the elevators was within the scope of the project.
As well as expanding on my creative design skills this project was primarily teaching us how to create a full documentation set and "submit it for tender."
The design process for this assignment involved a lot of sketching and relationship diagrams to gain a clear direction for the office. It was a process to be able to distribute the best views across different areas needed within the office.
This sketch was one of the first ideas for the floor plan. Initially it was
difficult to break the current layout of the office and explore what
else could be produced with the space provided.
Another iteration for the floor plan. I expanded a little more with
who/what will experience the views on offer. The line above
the image is the rough line of the river in which this
building is next to.
Another possible option. I created a trace of the existing floor plan
to help with spatial composition. Less focus on actual space
limits, this one was a relationship based brainstorm.
This was one of my last sketches before taking it into Revit. I found using
the original floor plan parameters was effective in diverging
my design ideas.
The floor plan was further developed within Revit. After iterating through sketches and various layouts,
I was able to move rooms and meeting spaces around and come to a final design solution.

This project was very informative in the process of developing a model within a CAD program and
furthered my skills in material application and phasing within technical documentation.
