Sustainability - Chair Construction
This project was a group assignment, focused on learning the life-cycles of materials used within the construction industry. This course gave us first-hand knowledge of the process taken from the conceptual/design phase to the construction of the product (or space) proposed. Our designs were to respond to a marginalised community within Australia and give voice and equality to our chosen group.
It made it clear how imperative correct, clear construction drawings are to enable the design to be built and produced. I was given the opportunity to produce the construction drawings needed to build the chair we designed as a pair. Together we used these to successfully construct a solid, usable piece of furniture.
